Maine Cottage Foods Chocolate Teenies are gourmet chocolates hand crafted with premium ingredients in the woods of Maine.

This delicious chocolate is almost entirely sugar free, very low in carbs, and you won't know the difference in taste from normal chocolate.

Even better, unlike almost all sugar free chocolate, these gourmet delicacies are made without the use of maltitol. Instead, erythritol is used as a sweetener because it has been shown to not have the side effects of other sugar alcohols(see the Erythritol section of this page for more info.)

Teenies are made from gourmet, low glycemic chocolate to offer the ultimate in portion control with an average of 0.3 net carbs per luscious piece! They offer carb control with beauty since they are wrapped in dramatic foils that are a delight to the eye.

"Assortment" is a colorful collection of each of the milk chocolate and dark chocolate Teenies. It's a great way to try a bunch of flavors and is perfect for sharing too.

Each teenie is 1.25 inches in diameter and 1/8 inches in height.

In the body, erythritol is absorbed into the bloodstream in the small intestine, and then for the most part excreted unchanged in the urine. Because erythritol is normally absorbed before it enters the large intestine, it does not normally cause laxative effects as are often experienced after over-consumption of other sugar alcohols (such as xylitol and maltitol) and most people will consume erythritol with no side effects. This is a unique characteristic, as other sugar alcohols are not absorbed directly by the body in this manner, and consequently are more prone to causing gastric distress.
