Make sure you add your peeled celeriac to boiling water though as starting to cook it in cold water can make it very bitter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vegetables: Alternatives to Pasta<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 276px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lindasdietdelites.com\/healthy-frozen-foods-66\/healthy-entrees-68\/healthy-habits-zucchini-marinara-600.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"low carb\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lindasdietdelites.com\/images\/products\/HEalthyHabits_zuchinnimarinara_small.jpg\" width=\"276\" height=\"178\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Healthy Habits Zucchini Marinara &#8212; just $5.51<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A fantastic way to almost eliminate all carbs from a meal is to use vegetables as a pasta alternative. \u00a0Spaghetti squash has a quarter of the calories and carbs of regular spaghetti so makes an excellent choice.\u00a0 Vegetable strips such as eggplant can be used as layers in mousaka, and zucchini can be used in the same way for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lindasdietdelites.com\/healthy-frozen-foods-66\/healthy-entrees-68\/healthy-habits-vegetable-lasagna-527.html\">lasagna dishes<\/a>.\u00a0 Long, thin zucchini strips can be also be used as a substitute for spaghetti or other pasta served with your favorite sauces.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shirataki Noodles &amp; Rice . . . on a Low Carb Diet?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lindasdietdelites.com\/diet-foods-78\/healthy-pasta-16\/house-foods-tofu-shirataki-noodles-202.html\">Shirataki noodles<\/a> are traditional Japanese noodle made from tofu that have a very low net carbohydrate count, and are extremely low in calories.\u00a0 They can be used in any recipe that you would use Chinese noodles or even pasta.\u00a0 They simply need to be rinsed under cold water and then heated up and added to your dish.\u00a0 Alternatively you can dry roast the noodles in a hot skillet pan for a couple of minutes until you start to hear them squeak, dry roasting the noodles gives them a more pasta-like consistency and able to absorb sauces better.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lindasdietdelites.com\/diet-foods-78\/healthy-pasta-16\/miracle-noodles-miracle-rice-824.html\">Shirataki rice<\/a> is also available for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lindasdietdelites.com\/\">low carb<\/a> dieters.\u00a0 This amazing rice is a water-soluble dietary fiber and has zero carbs, zero GI, zero gluten and zero calories!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Low Carb Pasta<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Unlike the starch-laden, carb-heavy potato, pasta can be made into a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lindasdietdelites.com\/\">low carb<\/a> staple.
