Golden Star Bakery Fat Free Cookies

  • By: Caitlin
For a low calorie cookie these things are amazing and HUGE! No artificial sweetener taste (I don't even think they use them) and very sweet frosting! When not microwaved it's like fondant (which I LOVE) but it's also incredible when heated up as suggested by Linda's Diet Delites (this way reminds me of a warm freshly baked donut from Krispy Kreme)! The cake itself is less impressive which is why this loses one star as it doesn't really taste like much other than perhaps a more dense angel food cake base, but this is something I would definitely get again! I ordered it in 90 degree weather and the frosting stayed on the cookie surprisingly, I was expecting it to be on the wrapper but I suppose sometimes you get lucky! ;)

I love the black and white frosted cookies. They are not only large, but taste better than some of the grocery store bakery cookies that are terrible for you.

I tried the Black and White cookie and it was amazing!!! However, be careful because the cookies are not always 2 oz. When I measured out my cookie, it came out to be 3 ounces. This means that instead of being 115 calories, it was 175 calories. Other than that it tasted like the real thing.

I love the triple chocolate flavor golden star cookie. These cookies are large, sweet, and only have 125 calories. The icing part of the cookie is very sweet and delicious. The bottom part is cake like and tastes like chocolate angel food cake. It's a nice balance. I recommend these cookies!

Love these - they are huge, and the icing in yummy. The cookie part can be a bit like try cake, but it has a light sweet taste, and is great with tea. I live near where these are made, and I've kept them in the freezer for a year, and they defrost just great!

These cookies were alright. It was definitely nice sized, but it's more the taste/texture I had issues with. The icing was palatable, but the cookie itself kind of reminded me of eating styrofoam. It was very dry and kind of brittle. But for the amount of calories, what did I really expect??? Don't think I'll buy these again, but you never know.

I have tried the Goldenstar black and white and celebration cookies, and absolutely love them. They are cake-like in texture so don't expect a dense, chewy-type cookie. So many diet cookies are disappointingly small, but these are a nice size for less calories than you'd expect. Great dunked in coffee, I also make low-fat ice cream sandwiches with them. The best fat-free cookies I've tried.

Love the black and white and the all white cookies. For two points they are great. Will continue to buy them.

I was disappointed in these cookies. The texture was somewhere between soft and hard. They tasted as if they were stale and the icing left a funny aftertaste. Unfortunately, I ordered 7 of them thinking that I would like them. Next time I will try another brand and only purchase 1 or 2.
