The flavor of this bread is great and it's only 50 calories, 1 net carb and 7 gm of protein per slice - how can it be? If you aren't accustomed to low carb or gluten free breads, the texture may take you a moment to get used to, but I encourage you to persist! This is much denser than traditional white bread so to counteract that I only eat open-faced sandwiches to get a better ratio of topping to bread.

Keep it in the freezer, take out only what you need about 30-45 minutes prior to using. Or straight from freezer to toaster until desired crispness.

My favorite use of this bread is for a breakfast sandwich that takes less than 10 minutes to make and is as good to me as anything from fast food: put two slices of bread (100 cal) into toaster oven on the second lowest setting, and when done add 1/2 slice reduced-fat colby jack cheese to each piece of bread (60 cal), top each with a slice of al fresco brand precooked chicken bacon (30 cal) and toast again on the lowest setting to melt cheese/heat bacon. While that's going, fry an organic egg (70 cal) in grapeseed oil spray (0 cal) and when done put half on each piece of the bread. A 260 calorie low carb/low fat/solid protein breakfast that keeps my stomach satisfied for hours.
