Chatila's Bakery Sugar Free New Generation Muffins

I have tried several sugar free/low carb desserts on this website so far, several of which have been from Chatila's Bakery, and I will admit these muffins are a lot better than I was expecting! Some of the products sold here are sweet, some taste a bit fake, and others are just mediocre. Chatila's cheesecake was decent, but their whoopie pies and donuts left more to be desired for their calories and level of sweetness (which was more subtle than I was hoping).
These muffins have absolutely set a new standard for how I view Chatila's Bakery.
Or all "diet" muffins, for that matter.
I ordered the gingerbread and pumpkin muffins; ordering two I felt like I was really taking a chance, but now I wish I had ordered more! The size was considerably bigger than ThinSlim's muffins (which I also really like, especially for their calories), but it was also quite moist which I wasn't expecting! These are definitely closer to your standard muffin you'd purchase from a grocery store, and for only about 80 calories per muffin they blow anything the grocery store has to sell out of the water. Seriously.
Do they taste artificial? A little bit, but not anything like some other diet desserts do. The artificial taste was very very subtle and the spices just about masked it completely. It didn't taste bitter, and it didn't taste unpleasant by any means. Very enjoyable muffins with just the right amount of sweetness without being overbearing. Again, great size and not at all dry! A lot more visually appealing than I was expecting, too; the display image makes this product look kind of gross to be completely honest, but it looked totally normal and delicious once I received them!
I'm not normally a huge muffin person, but this makes me consider becoming one. I would absolutely recommend it, especially if you love pastries but are trying to cut back a little on your calories! I'll definitely be trying more flavors and will use these to help me maintain my sanity throughout this delicious, tempting holiday season that is upon us once again (the price is actually really great compared to some other diet products)! ;)
